Ford Motor Co. CEO Alan Mulally -- a longtime admirer of Taurus sedans -- said Tuesday that Ford will do right by the nameplate. Shortly after Mulally arrived in Dearborn in September 2006, Ford changed the name of its family sedan back to the Taurus from the Five Hundred. Ford also implemented several mid-cycle changes aimed at improving sales and market position.

Many comments were posted on my review last week of the Ford Fusion. "Too bad this 'American' car is assembled in Mexico." "How about all the jobs in the design, product development, engineering, testing, launch support, etc. ... Most if not all of those jobs are in Dearborn."

The Nissan Cube's unusual boxy design got the attention of many readers in response to my review last week.

While I liked the Nissan GT-R, my comment in last week's review that "it doesn't surpass established leaders like the BMW 650i, Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 and Porsche 911 Carrera 4 S" didn't sit well with some readers.

Hundreds of enthusiastic Ford employees gathered in the lobby of the Glass House today, not just to celebrate the launch of the 2010 Ford Taurus and Taurus SHO sedan but also to get the autographs of top company executives who have the Dearborn-based automaker generating buzz across America.
