About 300 UAW workers, Ford Executives and politicians celebrated Ford Motor Co.'s announcement today that it will not only build the Ford Focus at its Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, but also will built an electric version of the car.
Ford Motor's Co.'s stock price zoomed past $6 per share last week for the first time since last July. On Wednesday -- the day Ford announced it would invest $550 million to retool Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne and build an electric version of the Focus -- Ford's stock closed at $6.26 per share.
For the second time in seven days, Ford Motor Co. announced that it completed the sale of a closed assembly plant, but the Dearborn automaker remains in the early stages of its effort to find a buyer for its Wixom Assembly plant, which closed just over a year ago.
