Movement 2010 is playing a role in Ford's nationwide campaign to introduce the new Ford Fiesta to music fans. The techno festival has much in common with the Fiesta.

The Detroit Festival of Speed and Style will return to downtown Detroit on Aug. 8-10. The show highlights classic and new cars along with automotive art and live music.

Back by popular demand, A.J.'s Music Café in Ferndale hosts Assembly Line II, a music marathon to support U.S. automakers and raise money for charity. The event aims to break the 288 hours of continuous music at A.J.'s that set a Guinness record in a rally for government assistance to General Motors and Chrysler last year.

Ford Motor Co. plans to launch a software application for its Sync communication technology that could allow drivers to connect to Internet music such as Pandora, as well as many other Web applications, the Free Press learned Thursday. Sync already allows drivers to use spoken commands to read text messages and control mobile phones and music players.

Ford is bringing the Fiesta Movement back.
