WASHINGTON -- Toyota said Thursday it was recalling 2.3 million vehicles to fix accelerator pedals that could fail to spring back, raising the total number of Toyota models called back for possible uncontrolled acceleration to 4.8 million.

WASHINGTON — Toyota late today added another 1 million vehicles to a recall of floor mats that could trap accelerator pedals and cause sudden acceleration.

Toyota is telling owners of 3.8 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles, to remove driver's side floor mats that can stick under accelerator pedals.
